Reverse Logistics – For a Green Environment

Aiming for a greener and safer environment has provoked the industry leaders and large business houses to recycle unused products and by-products through quick, efficient and cost effective methods. Recycling is the key word in the present day business scenario. Reverse logistics stands for all operations related to the reuse of products and materials. Similar to the logistics process in any organization, this also involves the process of planning, implementing, and controlling flow of raw materials, in-process inventory, finished goods and related information through cost effective methods. The difference lies in direction of the flow – from the point of consumption to the point of origin or reuse. This process helps industries and business houses to recapture the value of the product or ensure proper disposal.
