Help the Environment with Green Roofing

Green roofs provide numerous benefits not only to the environment, but also to the aesthetic value of the architecture and even provide health benefits to the homeowner. Green roofing can especially be beneficial to urban environments where runoff from rainwater carries pollutants into underground waterways. According to studies, a standard 50 by 50 feet roof with one-inch rainfall will carry with it approximately 1563 gallons of water runoff. Multiply that by the number of inches of rain each year, and calculate again for each roof in the city and you get an idea of how much runoff gets into waterways, carrying with it pollution.
